The transmission of collective memory across generations occurs through diverse mechanisms, such as narratives and storytelling. Beliefs derived from this collective memory are frequently strengthened through rituals, ceremonies, and symbols. ”Heads, Dust, and Smoke” is the poetic near documentation of a religious theatrical show in Iran, known as “Tazieh.”

This series was awarded a BPSA portfolio distinction from the Photographic Society of America and have won many awards in international photographic venues around the world.
