Heads, Dust and Smoke

documentary  project

Medium: Archival Inkjet prints (Epson Exhibition Fiber Paper)
Size of each photo: 20 x 30 in.
Year: 2017

The project is a near documentary of a religious theatrical show called Tazieh which happens every year in some Islamic parts of the Middle East. In this event, many people show their respect by mourning for the loss of their heroes.

Dusty air due to running horses, smoky air because of a pile of ashes of the burnt tents, and the black clothes as a sign of mourning are typical things one would notice in this event.

* Please note that in the first picture, the heads are mockups are NOT real heads!
